You’re more intuitive than you think. The real question is, why aren’t you trusting it?

In this episode of The Brilliance Method, I sit down with attorney-turned-astrologer Kathy Biehl to explore how to recognize your inner guidance and follow it. We talk about the small ways your intuition is already speaking to you, how to stop second-guessing yourself, and what it looks like to trust your own voice so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and ease.

Kathy Biehl lives on the bridge between intuition and the rational mind. She is a professional astrologer and Tarot advisor whose work draws on her diverse life experience as an attorney, small business owner, performing artist, and writer. She approaches all of it with a sense of wonder, keen research abilities, and a desire to explore and explain human existence.

What if the version of you that you've been hiding is actually one of the most powerful things about you? You've got a vision that you believe in, but somewhere between the dream and the doing, you keep second guessing yourself. Well, this episode is your permission slip to stop waiting. My guest today is Kathy Beal, a professional astrologer, tarot advisor, and former attorney who has spent decades being the living proof that you are allowed to be more than one thing. She bridges the rational and the intuitive in the most grounded, no BS way I've encountered in a long time. And what she shares in this conversation will completely shift how you think about trust, timing, and what it actually means to let your light lead you. So watch till the end because this one is for the part of you that already knows the truth. Hi, Kathy. Welcome to the show. Hi, thanks for having me. Oh, you're welcome. I am beyond thrilled to have you on the show because I love the logical mind and I love to bridge science and what's happening in what we perceive as our reality into these conversations more often than not. And when people tend to just go like hard all in woo-woo, it's sometimes hard to make it practical for the everyday person to understand what it is we're going for. So I truly appreciate your background. And even though you're not, you've retired and you're not practicing law at this time, you know, I guess give or take here and there, favor for a friend if I ever need to call you. We can still have these conversations.

SPEAKER_01

I have interestingly found that having a law degree and having a law practice has given credibility to all kinds of non-rational things that I've done, including years and years ago when I was teaching guided visualization, a hospital let me come in and give continuing education credit programs to occupational therapists to teach them how to teach their parents, their patients, how to do guided visualization. And my only credential was that I was a lawyer. I don't understand how that happened, but it did.

SPEAKER_00

It makes me so happy when corporations and big business are open to the energetic practices of how the world really works. And even when I've had the privilege of going and speaking at these big companies, when I say, Hey, we're gonna get a little woo-woo. I'm gonna talk about meditation and mindfulness and energy. And they're like, Okay, it usually comes down to that open-minded person who's hiring you, right? That HR director or someone that you know on the staff that's like, ah, we got to lighten the energy around here.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Well, I'd also say that these days people are much, much more open than when I was knocking on doors in the 80s. That's how long I've been doing this.

SPEAKER_00

True. Yeah. And that's, you know, it's such a positive thing that things have shifted in that way. And we're seeing more and more companies who really care about their employees. And hopefully that old paradigm shifts where people are just, you know, worked, worked, worked to the bone. But I I had a client last week who's just crying on the edge of burnout, been at been at her company 17 years, and they're just, they just won't let up. They don't appreciate her. And, you know, it's it takes people like us sometimes to either help shift their perspective so they see their true power, which is something you are so brilliant at, and encourages them to do something different internally and or externally, or these companies just need to change and get their shit together.

SPEAKER_01

There is a lot of that happening. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

There is. So, how have you balanced coexisting in the legal and the intuitive worlds? Because those worlds are so different. And I can even imagine like being in court and getting a hit, getting an intuitive download. It's like, what if there's no evidence? Like, tell us all the things.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's interesting because I was actually hired once officially and many times without the guy having any idea, as being basically a jury psychic. One person who knew I rate cards uh had me just sit and read and see what was going on. Another attorney who was an elder in the Church of Christ, aka extraordinarily conservative. I did a lot of research support work, and I would sit next to him in trials, and he didn't know what I was doing. He just valued whatever it was I would say. And there would be times that he would turn to me during a break and say, I need a case that says blank. And I go, okay. And I'd walk in the library and just say, All right, lead me to it, and I would find it within like 10 minutes. So, and I didn't tell him what I was doing because there was no point. Also, this guy has such people's perceptions form are so important in what they receive from you. He was so impressed with my mind and and thought so highly of me that he seemed to just not notice that I have one of the biggest potty mouths on the planet. It just went right by him. I did try to scale it back in front of him, but that was that was one way that that they worked together. I I would say that in some ways, astrology and doing legal research aren't really all that different, or even practicing law in a sense, because you're working with systems of rules. And at least in astrology, I do lots of pattern recognition, looking for cycles, and there are geometric angles. There's a lot of there's actually a lot of numbers involved, which is kind of funny given that that sort of thing was never my favorite thing in school. Although I did love geometry, so there is there is a lot of room, and in fact, you're better if you have the rational framework as an astrologer and work from there. And interestingly, increasingly lately, I've been doing a lot of mundane forecasting, which is trying to explain current events or real-world events, and the legal background gives me an understanding of what the framework is that a lot of these things are occurring within. So that's a kind of weird way that they they fit together.

SPEAKER_00

That makes perfect sense, actually. So what came first, the lawyer or the psychic?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, well, the lawyer was like a the decision of a panicked 19-year-old. The uh the other stuff started when I was in junior high. I just started reading my way through stacks in the library, certain certain portions of the Dewey Decimal system. I would just spend summers going through. So I read a lot about witchcraft. I thought if I kind of burned a candle and stared at it, I could make my boyfriend phone me. Didn't work. And I got very interested in astrology and I was given a deck of cards, I think when I was 15, and just started doing all kinds of stuff. I I ended up with a column in my high school newspaper, not quite sure how this came about because it was in Dallas, and I would I wrote a call. And so I don't know what my advisor did in order to run interference for me to be able to do this. And I just wrote about every month or every two weeks what the new sign was that was the sun sign, and I would talk about characteristics and then, you know, name the people in the school that I knew of who fit that. Once I went to law school, a lot of this stuff got put on the back burner for a few years. And when I was studying for the bar exam, the time when my logical mind was absolutely the most occupied, the psychic stuff just blew apart like crazy. I started having precognitive dreams, which I've never had really not much since. I certainly never had before. And once I did start practicing law and I became clear that working for a law firm that somebody else ran was not really what was going to make me healthy and happy. And I went off on my own. Then I went to formal astrology school. So one started, the other came in, and then the other came back with a vengeance. And at a point, I started practicing both. So I've been a formal uh attorney for about seven to ten years longer than a formal practicing astrologer, but the astrology part predated it really.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you're giving people so much permission right now to recognize that they are more than one thing and they don't have to throw their dream down the drain just because they have a money job or a zone of excellence job. And we talk about that a lot on this show that our zone of excellence, even though we're great at it and we make good money and we receive these accolades and whatnot, it really can feel like golden handcuffs, you know. Well, this is like you said, I was 19 and I panicked. How can I make where can I make money? Especially with a performing background. Actors make great attorneys. And the some of the best people who, especially if they have to go to court, if they have the confidence to perform, they do, they do so well. Like I've just seen the two go hand in hand, similar to how football teams practice dance, right? A lot of attorneys go take acting classes and improv classes, so I can see how the worlds meld. So thank you for that permission. Because there's probably a lot of people, whether or not they're practicing law, they have the the big kid jobs and they're going, gosh, but like I'm drawn to the show because I'm into the psychic stuff, the spiritual stuff. And, you know, as a as a spiritual teacher for entrepreneurs, this like these are the kinds of conversations I like to have.

SPEAKER_01

When I was in college, uh a professor who meant a whole lot to me gave a sermon. I didn't go to, I didn't go to church much, but I did when he preached. And he gave a sermon on the difference between vocation and avocation. Vocation is what pays the bills. Avocation is what you're called to do. And that stuck with me. Uh, and I think a lot of people have that. A lot of people have that. I noticed during in law school, I noticed when we would have essentially huge talent shows how incredibly talented so much of the class was. There were so many people there who were extraordinarily gifted in many, many ways. And they just figured this is what I have to do to pay the bills. A lot of them, it seems to me, have been much happier people when they have pursued avocations. And I do know a lot of lawyer actors in the Northeast. So, like in the northern New Jersey and New York area, lots of lawyer actors.

SPEAKER_00

That's so fun. You know, I've been producing these videos for a nonprofit called the Singleton Foundation, and my friend Jessica created this nonprofit sector of it called Groove, and it's a it's a financial wellness app. And so we've been doing these mini episodes interviewing people who have a finance background. And I have found that some of the best people who have been who have taught our segments on Groove have an acting background. They had some sort of performance like you, right? Maybe they they actually professionally acted or they went to acting school at some point, you know, because when I'm talking to them and I'm directing them about, you know, being on camera, so often it's like, oh yeah, I actually did some acting. It's like, oh my gosh, like, no wonder you're great on camera because you're comfortable with it, which doesn't mean if you don't have an acting background, that doesn't mean you're not going to be great on camera. Because there is that natural charisma and energy, and it's written in the stars on who you are and how you show up. And we all do it in our different ways. But yeah, that's cool to hear that about the Northeast, and it makes so much sense. Just it's just, we're so creative. You know, I think humans are just inherently creative. And when you own that and you don't stifle it, it actually helps you to develop your intuitive abilities because creativity is, of course, connected directly from the divine. It's a gift from the divine, it's a it's a phone line from the divine. It's it's like our own little, I picture it like this this wheel spinning within us. Our creativity is just connected to our heart and our power and you know, all the chakras, but that's just allowing our channels to go. And when you're creative in anything that you do, especially finance or law, then you probably do a better job at it.

SPEAKER_01

And here's something that I have discovered, observed a lot that fits in with that, and that is that there are a lot of closet cases out there. In other words, more people actually privately think that they're intuitive than own up to it in public. So the more people who present as normal act nonchalant about, oh, I just do this and do that. Uh a case in point, I have a friend who was very, very, very high in the corporate world, ended up with an MBA, traveling internationally, doing all kinds of stuff. And for years, he would say, if I phoned, that he had stared at his phone and made me call him. I mean, he was, he, he just owned up to this. He would know things, he would do things. There are more people out there like this than own up to it publicly.

SPEAKER_00

You're right. And so for everyone who's listening and watching, if you feel that ping, like, oh, you know, I really am intuitive. It doesn't mean you have to be a professional psychic or an astrologer or do readings or any of that stuff. It just means you're being reminded and invited to trust yourself so much more so that you can have a better life and help provide a better life for other people. It is there as one of our senses, just as real and important as seeing, tasting, touching, feeling all the things. It's knowing. And we know in different ways. We have different clairs. We might hear it if we're claire audience or feel it if you're clairsentient. They talk about clairvoyance, that means you see it. So if you're really inspired by what Kathy's talking about here today, spend a little time to sit with yourself and go, why might I not be giving myself permission to trust myself more and to listen to my own voice just as much, if not more so, than my teachers, preachers, and you know, bosses.

SPEAKER_01

Well, here's some tricks. And I bet people already do this. Do you say you have a gut feeling about something? Notice how you physically feel. Your body often, for a lot of people, your body will send you information. Like if you feel excited, that's probably you being drawn to something. If you get an I don't know, feeling about something and you push through because logic tells you you have to do it. How many times has it blown up in your face? I can give you some big stories on that, even now, with using energy mostly uh to guide what I do. So you you're already doing this, you know, how you feel about something, or if you just have a sense of I don't know, I don't know why, but I don't want to do this right now. And you find yourself doing something else, or you're driving along and you just get this wild hair to turn in a certain direction, and you end up, hmm, oh well, there's something I needed to see. Isn't this interesting? We all do it, is my point. So sit and think about how you've already been doing this. It isn't a big thing where you go to school. It's more unlearning. It's more unlearning, actually.

SPEAKER_00

That's a really good point. Any tips or guidance on how to unlearn?

SPEAKER_01

Start paying attention to little things to build a stronger line of communication with your intuition to let it know that I hear you, I'm acting on you. So tiny things like I don't feel like I should walk down that street. Well, don't walk down that street. Or I feel like I should go to this coffee shop today. And maybe the reason that you're drawn to it doesn't show up the first time you go, but maybe it does. Maybe you bump into somebody. Give yourself tiny, tiny tasks. And then you can build up when you realize, hey, my my gut feeling, my intuition, whatever, led me to something that is good or got me away from something that is bad. And I'll just throw in related. If you end up in a travel snarl, if you're trying to get somewhere and the GPS makes you go someplace else, if you're rerouted, there's probably a reason. And if you open to, I'm being redirected from something I don't want to be in the middle of. Example of this for me, recently I was coming back from visiting someone in the south part of the state, and it should have been a little more than an hour drive. And I noticed that the GPS was sending me through tiny town after tiny town after tiny town. And at that point, I had an adventure feeling, like, okay, we'll just look at these places we've never seen before. When I got home, I found out that the highway that I would have gone on had actually split open. I am serious. The concrete had split open like one car length. So New Jersey has had potholes summer lately. So there's an example. Like, I got to go drive around these cute little 150-year-old towns I'd never seen, and I avoided being in a traffic jam of people who couldn't go forward because the road had cracked.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh. And you have angels that took care of you.

SPEAKER_01

I I used Waze. This case, my angel was Waze.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's so funny. But we we thank you for that example. We have guides and angels who are interfering on our behalf. And when we have that thought or that doubt or that guidance, I love that you use GPS as an example because it really is our own internal GPS that we have to listen to or not. And if it reroutes us or renavigates us, why fight it? Just trust, trust. Life gets so much easier when we start listening to and trusting our intuition. The only time, and really think about this, everyone, you too, Kathy and me, when we regret something in life, or when we're like, oh, I shoulda, coulda, woulda, it's because we didn't listen to that feeling. We listened to someone else, or like you said, we logicked our way through it, right?

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. Yeah. I had a relationship blow up completely because I pushed through something and I just wasn't reading the signals that this topic was not worth it.

SPEAKER_00

So big time, you know, and and underneath that, you know, we we we just said we logic our way, but there's also things that we've been through in our lifetime or even in past lifetimes with some unhealed trauma and wounds and things that keep us moving forward. And we're gonna persevere. I'm gonna make this work, I'm gonna make them love me, I'm gonna show them that I am lovable, even if they're awful. And, you know, we do that in jobs, we do it in relationships, we do it to ourselves. We're so hard on ourselves. And we don't have to do that. And it sometimes it just takes a few moments of shutting the hell up, sitting with yourself, allowing all the mucky ucky feelings to come through, let them come through, and then go, huh? What is it I truly desire and where am I being guided? And then don't argue with her.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, people still do that part.

SPEAKER_00

We do, we do do that part. So I I can feel a lot of my guests already wanting me to ask you that precipice, Kathy, of people who have the big kid jobs and they're so in love and fascinated with something else, even if it's not esoteric. You know, maybe they really want to be an actor, maybe they really want to be write a book or whatever. And people sometimes don't act on behalf of their dreams because they have fear that they're gonna get fired or found out if they go for it and they create a website about their new passion or their thing. And then people don't. They're like, I'll wait till I retire, I'll wait till my kids graduate, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait because they're gonna judge me, they're gonna fire me, they're gonna think I'm weird, they're gonna think that I'm gonna get really into that and then quit. So then ahead of time, they're gonna start replacing me or reducing my hours. So people have so many reasons why. I have I have seen this to the point where people have multiple LinkedIn profiles of like, here's my woo-woo profile and here's my business profile. And I get it. There is a time and a place to do those things, but how did you navigate that? And maybe we'll have some takeaway tips here. Uh, I have a feeling you're a pretty gutsy gal, so you might have just not given a shit.

SPEAKER_01

But oh when I was young, in many ways, no. So I was one of the people who was getting warning sign after warning sign of this. Really isn't right for you. I got very, very ill. I was miserable. And I was thinking, what else can I do? And uh was working for a law firm. Uh, and I started getting warning signals from my advisor. And I thought about, okay, maybe at the end of the year, I'll quit, I'll do this, I'll do that. And then one day the Cosmic 2x4 just came down on my forehead and uh got fired. Valedictorian in my college class, straight A's always. I did everything I was asked to at this firm. And at that point in my life, being a hyperachiever, being fired was simultaneously the most humiliating thing that had ever happened and the best thing that had ever happened. But I it was done in a backhanded way. So it wasn't announced. It was just that in three months, three months, I was going to leave. This was done after giving a client my home phone number and putting me on a project that kept me going. And I didn't walk out the door. I should have. At this point in my life, uh, the potty mouth would have come out and ended everything immediately. But uh guess what? I my illness went into remission within like six months of working for myself and creating my own hours. And I started doing other things. And different friends of mine would say, Oh my God, if I didn't have a job, I would be sitting on the couch watching TV every day. How do you get up? Well, yeah, I want to pay my bills. I'm not gonna just sit here. So that gave me the freedom to multi-track. And then I I've always multi-tracked ever since then. I was doing multi-tracking at the firm, and this is one of the things that made them very uncomfortable. Because at that point, you know, the sign of being a human and having a bigger life. I mean, taking a ceramics class was a red flag to them. Okay, fine. Singing in a church choir, whatever. Um, so my I have two things I want to say growing out of this. One of them is that if you stick in something that's making you truly unhappy long enough, you'll probably get jettisoned. And that may be exactly what needs to happen to you. And when I got jettisoned, everything went. The only stable thing I had in my life at that point was my car. I lost my apartment because my landlord was getting a divorce and he wanted my apartment. And when I was upset a week after it happened, when I was still upset at having been fired, the guy I was dating lost his patience with me completely. Thought I should be completely over it at that point. So, okay, fine, that went down the tube too. So everything cleared out. And sometimes the clearing out is the best thing that can happen to you. And in fact, my boss, when he fired me, said, you will realize later this is the best day of your life. I realized later he was incredibly envious of me being younger, not having kids, having things ahead of me. So, point one, you know, wait. If what you're doing is really, really out of whack and making you unhealthy, sooner or later you will get jettisoned and you will know very quickly what it is you want to do. Just trust me on that for experience. But here's the second piece, and this one's taken me a long, long time. I'm gonna get on my little Leo soapbox. I call that the Leo soapbox, where I've had a lot of astrological influences in the last few years that have returned to the theme of who gets you, returned to the theme of where do you shine? Sits with you. And becoming aware of who gets you and who doesn't get you, and stopping expending energy on the people who don't get you. Do not try to win them over. Stop trying to get the attention of someone that doesn't even see that you're in the room. And above all, get the hell away from anybody who's got a water pistol or even worse, a bucket who's trying to put your light out. So your own light, your own shining, whatever it is, whatever your own creative spark is, really make that the centerpiece of your existence. Maybe you work an office job, but you're the one that everybody in the office comes to. You're the hub, you bring cookies, people are there. That's part of your spark. You're a great baker, you bring things. I know an actor who's also a professor who makes cakes and brings them, brings them to parties. It's what he does, where he gets his love and feedback from the people around him. Everybody's got something. And it doesn't matter if your spark is what brings you your living, it can be part of everything you do and everything you are. If not now, when? And what's the point? What is the point of being here if you are not expressing yourself? In fact, you're whole if you're holding yourself back from the rest of the world, what are you contributing? I mean, doing somebody's books might not be it. Making someone feel validated and worthwhile, that might be it. Maybe smiling at the cashiers in every store you go to and making someone feel like there's a reason they're on the planet, wearing goofy things, putting silk hair extensions in that sparkle and have people stop you on the street and go, wow, where'd you get that? It can be very simple. It doesn't have to be a big deal where you sit and you strategize and you project management. You just be yourself.

SPEAKER_00

That's it. That's the whole point of this show. So go back the last three minutes and listen to that again. All right, listen to that again right now. All right, we're back. So great, Kathy. Oh my gosh. I couldn't have said it better myself, and definitely not in the beautiful way that you have with your lived experience. It's so true. And we get so caught up in making money, which hey, money's great. I love money. We talk about money on the show a lot and the freedom that it brings, the opportunity, the access that it brings. One day I will write a book called Spiritual People Can Wear Prada, because I have so many spiritual clients who have an issue with money. And I don't know if it's a witch wound or I was a nun in a past life kind of thing. I just got to give and give and give and not get paid for it. And uh, it it it it is part of my mission. I have Jupiter and Venus in my second house and Saturn. But it's part of my mission. I know that it is. So it's important to for us to think about these things. But I love what you said of it's just make someone's day, be kind. And that can be part of our purpose. If you're a bookkeeper and you're bored, but you get to have converse meaningful conversations with people who trust you. If you're a bookkeeper, people trust you. You're looking at some of the most private parts of their life. Number one, you've got the you know, the trust of any guide, guru, religious figure in their mind, and you know their secrets and you're there to help them and whatever it is you do for a living. Just be kind. Be kind and be generous. That's also something you touched on in the baking and the cookies, and this and that. It's the generosity. And even smiling at the cashier is a generous thing to do. It feels so good. We can, it's it's not expensive to give more. People think it is, but it's not.

SPEAKER_01

No, and and there's one other component in all of this that recently is making it easier for people to jump off the precipice, quite honestly. Society has evolved from you work for the same company for 40 years and you get a gold watch and you retire. People move around, they change jobs, there isn't the stigma attached to it so much. And at the same time, the ground rules of reality seem like they've gone out the window, and things that you worked for for a long time might not be there when you get to what's supposed to have been the payoff moment. So if outer reality is changing, you've got a lot more latitude and freedom to go take a chance, especially astrologically this year, this year and 2026 are all filled with doorways into absolutely different ways of doing things, of letting innovation just erupt in your brain and going for it and being daring and doing what you naturally know how to do. Doesn't involve a ton of training. Some people are gonna want to do that, of course, but these days it's worth taking risks. And one of the sentences I say a lot is if not now, when? You know what do you want to be thinking about on your deathbed? You know, do you want to be thinking about, oh, I should have filed my taxes on time, or I sure saw a lot of beautiful sunsets. Which is it? And if your your big dream isn't something that actually happens, at least you put in the effort and you don't have the sense of I didn't even try. So having a glorious failure can actually be a really, really cool thing. So you try to put together a periodical and it and it goes and then it falls apart. So you and your pals put on a show and you put together a little theater company and you can't pull off the funding. At least you made the effort. You're not going to sit around and wonder, what might have happened if nope.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. And we learn so much from those failures. And in that way, we can try again if and when we feel motivated and inspired to try again. And now we have the tools and resources to do it better. And don't be afraid to ask for help and ask for funding and ask for collaboration. We don't have to do everything by ourselves. And I think when people look back at quote unquote failures and projects and things like that in their life that didn't go their way, it's because they really tried to do it all themselves. And we don't need to. Humans were built to be collaborative. We are tribal people, we are a community-driven people, and we all want to be helpful. So don't be afraid to ask somebody. And if they say no, then that's just not the right person at that time. So just keep asking. It's when we take things personally and make it all about us. And, you know, it's kind of the curse of the entrepreneur because we are, most of us, are the face of our brand. And then we tend to commingle this idea that our business represents our value, our personal value. And it's just not the case.

SPEAKER_01

The not taking it personally part is really pivotal because, for the most part, people aren't sitting around thinking about what they can do to you. They're stuck in their own little lives, they're thinking about their own lives. And taking things personally is a way of making yourself miserable. Why not look at it like, okay, that's not for me? It's kind of like when the GPS routes you through all the weird little towns and you later find out you didn't drive into a highway with a huge crack on it. If someone isn't available to you for you at a given moment, doesn't mean an absolute rejection of your worth. There's probably a reason on their end, and there's definitely a reason on your end, whether you ever logically know it or not. Just learn to go with the energy of what happens. And when you're being rerouted, don't say, oh, but I wanted this to happen, like, which is attachment. You know, we really have outcomes we want. And especially when we're younger, we get very bent out of shape when they don't happen the way we want. Any of us who do readings get this in the relationship department all the time. Just the more you attach to it's got to happen the way I think it will happen, the more you're oh, you're blocking what might be a really much better thing for you.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it's so true. I went live on TikTok recently and I just said, Hey, I'm gonna do readings. Who wants readings? And I went live and question after question after question, does he love me? Does he like me? Is my relationship gonna work out? Is she gonna call me back after our first date? And I was like, Whoa, I'd never done like a live reading like that on the internet before. And oh my like to strangers, you know. I mean, I've done, you know, gallery readings and things like that, but just I was like, I'm just gonna see how it goes, right? And the ones that I was able to tune in and focus on, you know, one at a time for a couple minutes at a time, great, but just the observation of everybody stuck in the pain. And I get it, I was there, I was there for so long. The pain and the desperation of do they love me? It just reminds me, we everything that we do, Kathy, we just want to be loved. That's it. We just want to be loved. And we want to remember who we are, which is love, and we want to return home, which is love. So everything is love. So when we get rejected, when we get fired, when it doesn't work out, just remember that person's just seeking love too. And they don't feel that it's a match with you. And that's okay, you know. And as you've said, the one of the themes of this episode so far, over and over, has been just trust when those doors close, because it will like expand your life in so many ways. And look at you now and who you are and how you know who you are, and the strength and confidence and empowerment in which you talk about your life and your gifts and your tools. Like that girl might not have existed 30 years ago, 20 years ago, had you not gotten those rejections and kind of and went through that illness and been and observed, you know, you it the story of your life so far. You've had these things happen, and either you reflected soon after, or soon enough after to go, huh? Yeah, I stopped getting sick once I started working for myself. Oh, and I stopped this. And I, oh, okay, I can actually have a better life. Like my loves, it's this simple. Truly. You don't have to go through the pain and heartache and illness that Kathy and I have gone through. You can start over right now and be kind to yourself and play and enjoy your life.

SPEAKER_01

That's kind of the point of it all, actually.

SPEAKER_00

That's kind of the point, right? Our souls just here to have an experience. Doesn't there's no there's no opinions about what kind of experience, just here to have an experience.

SPEAKER_01

And find other souls to play with. I mean, honestly, it keeps I keep going back to where do you feel good? Where who when you're around certain people, who gets your spark going, where you have more enthusiasm, where do you feel dulled? These are your signals. Head toward the people where you feel like you can be more of yourself. Head toward those situations.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. So if, you know, going back to something we talked about maybe 10 minutes ago, if you're at that precipice of, oh, I really want to do this, but I'm scared to launch a website or write a book or start telling people or change my profiles because I'm afraid I'm gonna get fired or this or that, like Kathy just said, then start in a way that feels safe and just start surrounding yourself with like-spirited, like-minded, like-hearted people who are into the things that you're into. You know, so if the happy hours at work and everyone's just bitching about work, if that's not vibing with you because you really want to go start surfing at whatever age and stage of your life you are, then go start hanging out with surfers on the weekends. Like you can make that choice. And it's fun to be new at something, it's fun to be the odd one out and be the beginner and have the beginner's mind. You know, as we get older, we're like, oh, it was so much easier when I was a kid. And it's because we had a beginner's mind. We did, we weren't crowded and overloaded with ideas and perceptions and you know, this hard shell of human ego that thinks that we just have to be safe and live in this safe bubble or we're gonna die. Like, use your imagination and get creative and tap into that zone of genius and go, what is it that I truly feel called to do? Even if you don't get paid for it, if you do more of that, you'll be happier, right? It's what you're doing now with astrology and more stuff I want to hear about.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I've switched it completely. That's I I support myself with astrology and writing now. That's it.

SPEAKER_00

That's phenomenal. Really phenomenal. And what was fun when I was looking at your website, and I hope everybody goes to Kathy's website. It'll be in the podcast show notes. Could you say your website out loud for us too, Kathy? Empowermentunlimited.net, like SafetyNet. What a great website. Oh my gosh, empowermentunlimited.net. I was reading about you and talking about the schools that you went to and the school that you teach at, and I'm like, oh my God, it's like real life Harry Potter shit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I have a friend who has a magic school and it is real life Harry Potter shit. I teach with her. Uh, you can learn the most astonishing things. It's it's really, really fun.

SPEAKER_00

Tell us more about that school in case people are interested. Is there an age limit requirement?

SPEAKER_01

Is uh children are in it, and I think most of the people tend to be women. It's the School of Magic and Mastery. If you go to magicandmastery.com, and an astrologer, witchy friend of mine named Donna Woodwell put this up, and this woman has more degrees and training than you can imagine. So this is not some airy fairy person. This is someone who decided she was going to learn something and then immersed in it completely. So she teaches ancient medieval methods in addition to all kinds of other things. Anyway, it's a there's a there's a divination potluck once a month where people show up with whatever uh oracular tool they want and they do readings for each other. Uh, we watch movies together on the first Friday of every month, and there's a chat window open, and they're they usually tend to have something otherworldly about them. They're not all about magic, but that is a place where you can get some really good grounding. Like if you want your mind to have something that it can hang on to and chew on, uh, I really like hers.

SPEAKER_00

That is so fun. Well, thank you for shining a light on your dear friend. And, you know, it's just an example. We are a living, breathing example that there is no such thing as competition when we truly own our own magnificence and our own light. And that's why I love having people like you on my show. It's why you love talking about your friends. Like there's truly enough for everyone. And when we realize our gifts and our abilities are so unique and powerful, all we want to do is tell everybody about this other thing or person, situation, school opportunity that we love. And life just gets easier in that regard, too.

SPEAKER_01

I agree completely. There are too many when you run into somebody who is really competitive, there's often a very strong uh inadequacy streak in there somewhere. They're trying to prove a point, not to you, really to themselves, or maybe to the parent that told them they weren't enough. That gets tiresome. Get old enough, you're like, I don't want to go, go away. I don't have time for this. No. And and that is unfortunately a really big thing in the intuitive or metaphysical or esoteric world. There are a lot of people who want to be uh head honcho, queen bee, top of the heap, and nope, I don't have I don't have time for that. Do not have room for it.

SPEAKER_00

Nope, no ma'am. And do you have a podcast too? Because you had said your own Riverside account.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, I have a couple. I have a show on Omtimes Media. It's called Celestial Compass, where I talk to people about mostly astrology, but sometimes different navigational tools of reality. And that's on the first and third Monday of every month, 5 p.m. Eastern. I also have a weekly podcast with my uh weekly forecast, drops every Friday. And uh lately I have uh, well, for several months, and you can everyone can figure out how long I've been doing political astrology collaborations with another, started with two other people, now it's one. And uh and those are up my YouTube channel, which is Professional Aquarian. So obviously I didn't do any kind of planning, corporate managed, project managed branding for any of this. It all happened kind of haphazardly in different pieces. So the names don't fit. I will say that Empowerment Unlimited came from a desire for more normal slash corporate type clients to be able to have my website up without somebody walking by and questioning what they were doing. So that was from a concern about passing for normal, which to be honest, I've pretty Pretty much eliminated.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But how again, generous of you to create that website that way so that if other people are looking at work, they're not in trouble, right? They're not questioned. And the ones who get it and see it and who cuddle up to them next to the cubicle and be like, oh my gosh, does this girl do readings? Right. Then they can book with you.

SPEAKER_01

Then yes, I do.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. That's right. Before we wrap up and we talk even more about how to connect with you and work with you, you play with cards, I play with cards, you do astrology. Is there anything we want to do?

SPEAKER_01

I have my usual deck right here. It stays at my computer. Uh I usually use the Robin Wood tarot, which is a Celtic reinterpretation of the Ryder Wade Smith deck. Although I've got, I think at this point, like a thousand decks. It's insane. It's they're all over my living room floor. I've got bins of them in the basement. And yet, and yet, every time I say that's it, I don't need another deck, then I find out. I said this after getting a gorgeous food-themed deck, which I'll pass on to people because it's brilliant. Caccio e Pepe Taro. Caccio e Pepe is a pepper and uh cheese Italian dish. C-A-C-I-O-E-P-E-P-E. Three women who for like eight years just had dinner and drank wine and griped about their lives, brainstormed this deck and put it out. It's utterly gorgeous. So the day after I got that, I said, I don't need any more decks. And then I found out that there was an Al Hirschfeld Broadway tarot. And I said, I gotta have it. So I have that. And it's just spun. Then it then someone gave me a Hocus Pocus deck. And now I'm not gonna say, I'm not gonna say any more. Uh no, I don't need any more decks because they they wait till you see this.

SPEAKER_00

What do you have? The Starman Tarot.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, I haven't seen that. Oh dear. Oh dear. I have one that's all Merrill Streep rolls, but Starman, man.

SPEAKER_00

It's so gorgeous. A friend gave it to me as a gift, and like I don't even want to play with it so much because it's just so it's so beautiful. Like it's so beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

My God.

SPEAKER_00

All of it. You know, it's it's a Bowie themed deck. It's amazing. When I pull cards on the show, I pull a card or two for my guest. If there needs to be more, there's more. But I set the intention that it's whatever everyone who's listening and watching right now at this time also needs to hear. So it resonates for both people. So I'm gonna shuffle while I do that and then tell us about what you're gonna do.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just gonna pull two cards for the collective. How's that? For who for the audience? Perfect.

SPEAKER_00

Perfect. And I'm jumping in on that too. I know they're also for me.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, Seven of Pentacles. So this is a card of gestation. Something's in process. If you try to speed it up, you could actually kill it. So sit back, let trust processes, and when you're tired, rest. That's a hard one for people to get. When you're tired, rest. It doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. If you find yourself getting frustrated, this is not, this is a card. This card says, do not push, don't force things, rest, stand back, observe what's growing, and wait and see. That's thing one. And the second one is, and then you'll get what you want. This is the wish fulfillment card. So you push it, you won't get the beautiful little harvest. But if you sit and wait, yes. And this also says, please enjoy yourself. Enjoy yourself. It is okay. You want to kick off early and go to the beach, do it. You take a two-hour lunch, so what? Do it. This is enjoy yourself in the moment while you're resting, and know that something that you really, really want, which is very physical. This guy is no, I mean, look at that. This guy clearly enjoys uh the uh finer things in life. He doesn't hold back from what he wants and needs. This ties into a long-term astrological influence that's going to be with us until the end of June 2026 that encourages nurturing, encourages enjoying your home, encourages nesting, encourages taking care of yourself in little, little ways. This is the treat yourself message. And again, we've got it until the end of June 2026. So use this as what you were what you retreat into if the world becomes too much, if you get tired of waiting, if you're overtaxed with the striving that you've had, if the chaos that you're observing or experiencing starts to get to you, retreat to your happy place. Treat yourself. It's what you're supposed to do. And treat yourself has a different definition for every person. So you know what it is for you. This card is giving you permission to go do it and immerse yourself in it.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. You heard this at the right time in the right place, no matter when it is, you have tuned in to this episode. Thank you. Thank you, Kathy. Okay, so I'm gonna pull two as well. And this is for the collective. And of course, I'm tuned into your energy, Kathy. So you go ahead and receive this for yourself, also. This is Anya. This is the goddess guidance deck. This is leap of faith, my darling. Take a risk and put your heart's true desire into action. Isn't this exactly what we've talked about on this show today?

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

A hundred percent. So for you, Kathy, and for everyone listening or watching, where is your heart truly calling you to just go all in to jump, to know that the net will appear? My life coach Trish used to always say that leap and the net will appear. And this beautiful, she's probably Celtic goddess. She let me look that up to make sure.

SPEAKER_01

With that name's telling it looks Celtic.

SPEAKER_00

I think so too. Yep. Powerful Celtic goddess and fairy queen who gave birth to incarnated fairies from her romances with mortal men, my kind of girl. Right. Anya is revered in Ireland for helping to grow crops and oversee animals. You can call upon her when you need additional guidance and the courage to take risks. So go for it, babe. Go all in, do the damn thing. Okay. I just registered this morning to go to Podfest in Orlando in January and kind of scary. I'm like, I paid money to go to this conference. I'm going all in on my show. It's like another level of commitment to my show. I'm going to go be around strangers. I'm actually quite of an introvert. So just that kind of thing. Whatever your dream is, how can you double down on it in a way that you might be just a little bit uncomfortable? Because you're going to grow. Okay. Second card. Here we go. Athena. Thank you, darling, for your brilliance. Inner wisdom. Look at that owl over her shoulder. If you're not uh watching this, that's what's going on here. You know what to do. Trust your inner wisdom and take appropriate action without delay. There's a there's a theme happening, Kathy.

SPEAKER_01

There is. I wish I knew what it was about.

SPEAKER_00

Because some of these cards are like rest, retreat, go, you know, this or that. And these are like, hey, take a leap and take action. Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it. All right. So what is the best way for somebody to work with you and receive guidance and support?

SPEAKER_01

There are several uh vehicles and entry points. The easiest place is my website, empowermentunlimited.net, where all of my forecasts are. There's information about talks, uh, services. I have a mailing list that goes out every Monday morning with direct links to all of my latest things. I have a page and a group on Facebook. The page is Empowerment Unlimited. The group is the Astro Insight Lounge, where we talk largely about how astrology is playing out in time present in our lives and in the news. I have a Patreon, patreon.com slash Kathy Beal. That includes 60 second or less daily forecasts just to focus you, and they're kind of sassy, I guess is the polite way to put it. Then my YouTube channel is Professional Aquarian. So depending on how you like to get your info, there are varying ways, and there's some people who are with me in all of them. Yay.

SPEAKER_00

Fantastic. And people can book readings with you through your website. Right. Mm-hmm. That's so wonderful. Well, run, run and book a reading with Kathy and get into her energy. She is such a light. Kathy, you are such a joy. And I love your generous heart. I love your kindness. I love your no nonsense approach. You are the kind of mystic that I like to spend time with. So I feel like we're going to teach a class together or something. This was just so easy for us riffing back and forth. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my goodness. You're welcome, darling. Before we stop, is there anything else you want to say or add?

SPEAKER_01

I keep going back to an Oscar Wilde quote: Be yourself. Everyone else has already taken. It's a good one.

SPEAKER_00

Well, on that note, thank you, everyone. Wishing you an abundantly beautiful day. Reach out to Kathy. All of her links will be in the podcast description. And we will see you soon. Bye for now. Be sure to connect with me at patreon.com forward slash the brilliance method. The only way I'll know if you're loving the show is if you leave a comment, five stars, and subscribe.
